History of China Environmental United Certification Center
In March of 1993, China officially launched the activities on environmental labeling.
In August of 1993, China published its logo of China Environmental Label.
In May of 1994, China Certification Committee for Environmental Labeling Products was established. The former National Environmental Protection Agency released 5 technical requirements for environmental labeling as the first group.
In January of 1995, a total of 18 product models from 11 enterprises obtained China Environmental Label as the first group of such products.
In August of 1997, China Accreditation Committee of Environmental Management System Certification Institutions and Environmental Management Committee of National Registration Committee of Chinese Certification Personnel were established.
In May of 2002, China Environmental United Certification Center (CEC) was established with the integration of the former China Accreditation Committee of Environmental Management System Certification Institutions, Environmental Management Committee of National Registration Committee of Chinese Certification Personnel, Secretariat of China Certification Committee for Environmental Labeling Products and Management System Certification Center of Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences.
In December of 2002, CEC obtained the certificate of CNCA.
In May of 2004, CEC obtained the accreditation for quality management system.
In June of 2004, CEC granted the first certificate of certification of China environmental label (Type Ⅱ).
During January-April of 2005, China signed the cooperation agreement on environmental labeling with Australia, Korea and Japan respectively.
In February of 2005, CEC obtained the accreditation for the certification of occupational health and safety management system.
In December of 2005, CEC obtained the accreditation for certification of organic products.
In July of 2006, CEC obtained the accreditation for certification of food safety management system.
In August of 2006, China Environmental Labelling and German environmental labeling (Blue Angel) established strategic partnership.
In June of 2007, CEC became the official member of Global Ecolabelling Declaration Network (GED).
In September of 2008, CEC joined Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).
In November of 2010, a total of 292 product models as the first group of 11 enterprises obtaining the certification of low carbon products with China Environmental Label.
In April of 2012, CEC undertook the work of Working Group of Environment and Resources of National Technical Committee on Standardization of Certification and Accreditation (SAC/TC261).
In November of 2012, CEC leader was selected as a board member of GEN.
In April of 2013, CEC participated in UNEP Sustainable Public Procurement Initiative (SPPI) and served as a member of SPPI Advisory Committee.
In October of 2013, CEC Shanghai Branch was approved.
In December of 2014, CEC Guangzhou Branch was approved.
In September of 2014, the celebration activity for the 20th Anniversary of China Environmental Labelling was held in Beijing.
